7th Pay Commission: Impact on Centre after majority BJP states implement recommendations

States such as Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Haryana among others have implemented the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, bringing the much needed relief for its employees.
Let us take a look at the states which have implemented the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission and also how much hike the employees have got.
Uttar Pradesh:
In UP, following the recommendations, the hike was by 20 per cent. The announcement will put an additional burden of Rs 27,000 crore on the government.
Jammu and Kashmir:
The J&K government implemented the recommendations of pay panel following which the hike was up by around 23.5 per cent.
Uttarakhand:
The first government to impend the 7th Pay Commission was the Harish Rawat led government. Along with the hike also came an increase in the DA by 2 per cent.
Haryana:
The government recently gave the go ahead to the recommendations, It also brought the contractual employees under the ambit.
Madhya Pradesh:
The MP government increased the salaries by 14 per cent. A suggestion to increase the retirement age too was made.
Goa:
The recommendations were approved and the hike became effective on January 4.
Tripura:
In June a hike of 19.68 per cent was approved as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.
Bihar:
During the inauguration of the Patliputra university, Bihar CM announced that the recommendations are being implemented. He announced that the university teachers would soon get a salary hike.
Maharashtra:
The 7th Pay Commission recommendations will be implemented effective January 2019. This would put a financial burden of Rs 21,000 crore on the exchequer.
The trend:
If see, all the above mentioned states are ruled by the BJP. In some states they are in power while in others they are part of the coalition. In Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP was in power with the PDP until recently. Observers say that this is a trend that should follow to the Centre as well. The BJP ruled states have made sure that the 7th Pay Commission recommendations have been implemented. Hence, one could expect that the issue surrounding this subject could be resolved even by the BJP government at the Centre.
